Flow NX2 Carbon Bindings | Official Product Page
The NX2 Carbon represents the pinnacle of Flow's rear-entry engineering—precision response meets effortless entry. We built this binding for riders who demand podium-level support without the weight penalty. The carbon-reinforced ExoSpine highback delivers instant energy transfer edge-to-edge, while the dual-density N-Connect footbed keeps every landing smooth and controlled.
Our Active Strap Technology locks your boot heel-to-toe the moment you drop the highback. No buckle fumbling on the lift, no reach-down adjustments in the cold. The PowerTriangle base frame distributes force across a wider contact patch than traditional two-point systems, eliminating dead spots and maximizing board feel. Whether you're arcing GS turns or threading tight trees, the NX2 Carbon responds instantly to micro-adjustments without chatter or lag.
Carbon chassis specs & adjustability

Carbon ExoSpine & Forward Lean Systems
The NX2 Carbon’s highback is engineered around vertical carbon fiber stringers that run the full height of the spine. This isn’t decorative—these stringers reduce flex zone twist by 34% compared to standard nylon, giving you cleaner edge transitions when you’re loading up a carve at speed. The highback itself is shaped with our anatomical calf-wrap profile, which distributes pressure evenly and eliminates hot spots during long days.
Forward lean is adjustable across three positions: 12° for park and powder float, 15° for all-mountain versatility, and 18° for aggressive carving and alpine terrain. Tool-free adjustment means you can dial it in at the trailhead without digging through your pack. The lean angle locks with a spring-loaded pin system that won’t back out mid-run, even in hard-charging conditions.

Active Strap Technology & Heel-Lock Precision
Traditional strap bindings require separate ankle and toe adjustments—two buckles, two contact points, two chances for pressure inconsistency. Our Active Strap system uses a single over-the-toe PowerStrap that cinches simultaneously across the forefoot and ankle as you lower the highback. The strap’s lower zone features rubberized grip panels that conform to your boot’s contour, while the upper zone pulls tension through an articulating pivot that equalizes pressure.
The result is zero heel lift and instant response without cutting off circulation. We’ve paired this with LSR (Low-profile Secure Ratchet) buckles that feature a micro-adjust ladder for half-increment tuning. If you’re stepping up from a standard NX2 or similar rear-entry model, you’ll immediately notice how much less slop exists between your boot and the binding—every input translates directly to the board.
PowerTriangle Base Frame & Tool-Free Stance Width
Base Geometry
The NX2 Carbon rides on our PowerTriangle chassis—a three-point mounting system that extends contact across the binding’s full perimeter rather than concentrating it at two narrow posts. This wider footprint reduces torsional twist and increases edge-to-edge stability, especially on icy hardpack where precision matters most. The baseplate is molded from reinforced nylon with integrated side walls that prevent the disk from flexing under hard lateral loads.
Stance Adjustment
Stance width and setback adjustments happen via a sliding track system built into the base. Loosen a single thumb wheel, slide the disk to your preferred position, and lock it down—no tools, no secondary hardware to lose in the snow. The track offers 4cm of fore-aft range and accommodates both 4×4 and 2×4 insert patterns, so compatibility across different deck brands is never an issue.

Common questions about the NX2 Carbon
The NX2 Carbon highback is approximately 20% stiffer than the standard NX2 due to vertical carbon fiber reinforcement. This translates to sharper edge response and reduced torsional flex during aggressive carving. The baseplate and footbed are identical between models, so the primary difference is highback stiffness and weight—the Carbon version is roughly 180 grams lighter per pair.
Yes, the NX2 Carbon is fully compatible with BOA systems. The Active Strap and highback are designed to clear mid-height BOA reels without interference. Make sure the reel is positioned on the lateral side of your boot (away from your other foot) to avoid contact with the binding's ankle strap during tightening.
For all-mountain versatility, we recommend starting at the middle 15° setting. This provides a balanced stance that works well across groomers, powder, and moderate steeps. If you spend more time carving hardpack or charging steep terrain, the 18° setting will give you extra leverage and quicker edge transitions. Drop to 12° if you prioritize park riding or deep powder float where a more upright stance helps.
The NX2 Carbon is compatible with both 4×4 and 2×4 insert patterns, which covers most boards on the market. Burton's 3D pattern (The Channel and EST systems) requires a specific mounting disc that's not included with the NX2 Carbon. If you're riding a Burton board with The Channel, you'll need to use a Burton disc adapter or choose a board with traditional inserts.
The Active Strap is ready to ride out of the box with no break-in period required. The strap material is pre-formed and the pivot mechanism is tensioned at the factory. You may want to fine-tune the ladder strap length during your first session to match your boot profile, but once dialed, the system maintains consistent tension and requires minimal adjustment ride-to-ride.
The carbon-reinforced nylon composite we use in the NX2 highback is engineered to remain flexible and impact-resistant down to -40°C. The carbon fibers are embedded within a nylon matrix that retains some give, preventing the brittleness you'd see in pure carbon layups. We've tested these bindings extensively in sub-zero conditions without structural failures. Normal use won't crack the highback, though direct high-impact collisions with rocks or lift towers can damage any binding material.
Stance width and fore-aft position adjustments are completely tool-free—just loosen the thumb wheel on the base, slide to your preferred position, and lock it down. Changing your binding angle (rotation) still requires a Phillips screwdriver to access the mounting disc. Most riders set their angles once and leave them, but if you frequently switch between duck stance and directional angles, keep a small screwdriver in your pack.
